01 / Market Context
Scientific & Public Project Environments in KSA
Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 is driving sustained investment across universities, research centres, hospitals, and industrial testing laboratories -- creating demand for internationally sourced, locally compliant laboratory furniture systems.
Government & Research
King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), and national university campuses regularly procure laboratory infrastructure under public tender frameworks.
Healthcare & Clinical
Ministry of Health hospital expansions and Vision 2030 healthcare initiatives require clinical-grade laboratory furniture meeting international hygiene and safety standards.
Pharmaceutical & Industrial
NEOM and other giga-projects, alongside ARAMCO, SABIC and downstream petrochemical facilities, drive demand for chemical-resistant, heavy-duty bench systems.
Education & Teaching
Ministry of Education school and university laboratory upgrades require modular furniture that supports multiple science disciplines and meets local safety codes.
02 / Compliance
SASO, Saber & Import Compliance
All regulated products imported into Saudi Arabia must be registered on the Saber platform and conform to SASO technical regulations before customs clearance. Our export documentation is prepared to support your local Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) registration workflow.
Note: Saber registration and final conformity certification must be completed by the Saudi importer of record or their licensed CAB. We provide technical documentation, test reports and certificates to support that process. We do not hold or apply for Saudi product registrations on behalf of third parties.
Applicable reference standards
- SASO GSO ISO 9001 -- Quality management (supplier)
- SASO SABER -- Mandatory conformity per SASO technical regulations
- SEFA 8M -- Steel laboratory furniture performance standard (covered by supplier)
- EN 14175 / ASHRAE 110 -- Fume cupboard test methods (as specified per project)
- CE Declaration -- Laboratory benches and fume hoods (issued by manufacturer)
Saber Platform Registration
Products regulated under SASO technical regulations must be registered through the Saber e-platform before shipment. We provide CoC, test reports and technical files to the CAB appointed by the Saudi importer for submission.
Certificate of Conformity
A SASO-accepted Certificate of Conformity (CoC), issued by an approved third-party body, must accompany each regulated shipment. We coordinate product documentation to facilitate issuance.
Gulf Standards Organisation
GCC harmonised standards (GSO) may apply depending on product category. We confirm applicable standards per project scope and supply supporting technical datasheets.
HS Code & Customs Classification
Laboratory furniture typically falls under HS 9403 or 9402. We provide accurate product descriptions, HS codes and packing details to support Saudi customs clearance.
03 / Local Content
IKTVA & National Industrial Policy
Saudi Arabia's In-Kingdom Total Value Add (IKTVA) programme and the National Industrial Development & Logistics Programme (NIDLP) set local content targets for public-sector and ARAMCO supply chains. Importers and contractors must understand these obligations before procuring international laboratory furniture.
What we support
Importer of record owns compliance⚠ IKTVA targets and National Content scoring are the responsibility of the Saudi EPC contractor or importer of record. We provide documentation to support that reporting; we do not certify or guarantee compliance scores.
04 / Import Documentation
Standard Export Documentation
We prepare a complete export document package for every Saudi Arabia shipment, designed to meet Saudi Customs (ZATCA) and Saber requirements.
Commercial Invoice
Itemised by HS code with unit and total values in USD. Must match Packing List and Bill of Lading exactly.
Packing List
Carton-level detail: dimensions, gross/net weight, item count, project reference and room/bench labelling.
Bill of Lading / AWB
Issued by the carrier. Consignee must be the Saudi importer of record as named in the Saber registration.
Certificate of Origin
CCPIT-stamped CO confirming Chinese manufacture. GCC preferential CO available where applicable.
Certificate of Conformity (CoC)
Issued by a SASO-approved CAB. We provide the technical file; the Saudi importer engages the CAB and owns the certificate.
Fumigation Certificate
Required for wooden packing materials (ISPM 15). All wooden crates and pallets are treated and certified.
Technical Datasheets
Material safety data, load ratings, surface treatment specifications and installation instructions -- required by some CABs for product conformity review.
Test Reports
SEFA 8M, EN 14175 or ASHRAE 110 reports where applicable to the product category. Certificates held by manufacturer; scope confirmed per order.
